Idea

What I Love/hate:  I love being able to come up with my own ideas and watch them come to life. Whether they come to life in my mind or on screen, the process of making something that started with a single idea and ends with a well fleshed out project is something I just adore. I also love sport, especially football and I have always been fascinated by the media side of football, such as the commentary aspect of the game. Some moments in football have been made iconic because of the commentary that went with it and I have dreamt about having an iconic commentary moment . I have also always had a passion for puppetry and for many years, I had always wanted to do it professionally however after giving it some thought and looking at all the factors, I decided against it. However I am still very much interested in the art form. However one thing I don't enjoy is manual labour. I am someone who doesn't enjoy manual labour, I have never enjoyed working with my hands and I when i was younger I didn't have the hand eye coordination for more practical based skills. As i am more academic and creative

Short term goals:  For my short term goals, I am hoping to gain a distinction in Media here at the college which will help me progress onto University. When i progress onto university, I hope to study something in media such as broadcast journalism, sports broadcasting or just general media studies. In the meantime I am hoping to gain some work experience in the media industry, that could be for college as well as in order to build my own portfolio, In addition to finding more general work (EG in a shop or restaurant)

Long Term goals:  I hope to go to University and study something I'm media which can then help me to move onto a career in the field. I would love to work in  media either on camera such as presenting or behind the scenes jobs in television or for a production company. Or in sport doing off camera jobs such as commentary or working for a club in their media department, I would also love to present sport as well. Whether that is for Sky Sports, BT Sport or whoever are the main sports broadcasters in the future 

SWOT: 

Strengths: 

• I am a team player, I like to listen to other ideas and allow others to participate and contribute to a project.  I am also a natural leader, I like to be able to to take charge of a project and I feel that I can control a situation if it gets difficult.  I am very personable, I feel that I am able to communicate well with everyone clearly and get on with everybody which can help create a good atmosphere on a project.  I am also very Creative 

Weaknesses: 

• I put too much pressure on myself sometimes. Another weakness is that sometimes I rush things, Writing. My writing brings my grade down which could be my biggest weakness with my projects 

Opportunities: 

• The Opportunity to go to university and study media. Another opportunity for me is the connections within the puppetry industry, I have contact with many of the Muppet performers in the UK and USA which could be very helpful if I decide to peruse a career in puppetry. I also have connection to television presenter Jake Humphrey, this could be really helpful for me if I ever need to gain experience, he may be able to help me out. And my media qualification from college will also help me go further by helping go onto Uni and achieve my goals.

Threats: 

• My health could play a big factor in my future. My condition could improve or it could get worse, it is often uncertain. Another threat is the declining puppetry industry, puppetry work is drying up and if it continues to worsen there will be no in industry in around 10 years. Another threat is not getting the grade to get into Uni, this will severely effect my career plans if I cant get into university. 

Action Plan: September 20-July 21

• Improve my editing 
• Improve Photoshop skills 
• get better with the camera (handled)
• improve on sound mixing/editing 
• Improve on my writing 
• Finish the course with a grade that gets me into Uni 

Summer 2021-2026  Action Plan 

• Get some experience to build my portfolio 
• Go to uni and do a media degree 
• Continue to gain experience to build a portfolio in order to stand out in a crowded market. 
• Begin working in the industry 

SMART plan

•  One of my goals is too complete my level 3 media course, In order to achieve this I need to pass all my projects and get my grade in my FMP. This is attainable because I am currently being predicted a distinction. This goal should be completed by the end of the year. 

• One of my other goals is too go to University and study media, I hope to achieve this by completing my college course and gaining enough qualifications to do so. I feel this is currently achievable because I am currently on track to achieve the grades needed . This is relevant to my future as I hope to go into a career in the media industry. I hope to achieve my grades and go to uni in the next year 
• My final goal is to get a job in the media side of the sports industry. I hope to achieve this by going to uni and getting qualifications. I also want to gain experience in order build a portfolio for myself. I am a big sport/football so to be able to go into that industry and work in media or broadcasting would be amazing. I hope to achieve this in the next 5 years

Wellbeing: 

• Connect socially: I am planning on meeting up with a close friend of mine, we speak regularly but we haven't seen each other properly since we left school in June so it'll be really nice to reconnect in person and have a great catch up. I also want to met up with my other friends regularly too as I don't see any of them enough. 
• Ask them how they are and listen: I already like to do this with the people I talk to the most but I want to start to do this with people I have not spoken to in a long time and even people that may not necessarily talk to or know that well.   
• Be active: I recently started playing football again for Ingoldisphorpe Fc and i have played all throughout pre season and I have already played one match in the league this season and i have been attending the gym regularly since February and this is something I want to keep up with 
• Learn: I want to cook so i can become more independent when i move away to Uni next year.  
• Give: visit my elderly relatives more often.
